These flowing forms are a collection of wood sculptures that use lyrical line work and fluid planes to create a feeling of suspension. This way of working is the starting point from which my work has developed. It’s largely an improvisational approach to working with the organic forms provided in the characteristics of the wood. There is an intuitive call and response that plays out in the work until a resolution is achieved.

These bronze works are made by taking molds off of my original wood sculptures. I carve the wood originals with the intention of transferring the wood form to a metal medium with the help of area foundries.

Passage is a sculpture meant to be installed in outdoor settings. It is inspired by open ocean wayfinding and early voyaging cultures who used keen observation to create systems of navigation that relied upon a deep connection to the natural world. That intimacy to nature, mystery and beauty of adventure was a feeling I wanted to capture in the work. A basalt plinth is carved and polished for the base. 84” tall x 24” wide x 16” deep. Available
